I decided to create a new community on Reddit to open the discussion much wider than can be on this blog or the ‘ArtDeco’ subreddit. Yes, they have over 100k members, but the mods do not allow much other than images that they judge to be …. whatever they like. So, since I am so heavily into all things art-deco, this new community called Art Deco Everything (actuall spelled artdecoeverything) will be a place where anyone can post just about anything concerning either things you have found or consider art-deco or ‘deco-ie’, places, people, music, art, jewelry, actors, movies, buildings, furniture and the list goes on. Visit and post something. You can put fair-use video clips on there, images that have not been around the net much and of course items you yourselves have made, like I have. You can also put fair-use music clips that represent what you think was played during the era – 1924-40.

I think it is going to be fun at least and who knows, you may learn something or trade for some item you acquired that some may want. There will be light limitations on marketplace activities just until it hurts or becomes too cluttered. There are plenty of marketplaces to visit if that is all you want but there we will not prohibit it.

We have implemented ‘Post Flairs’ which users can select when they post. This allows all posts to be ‘categorized’ so people can sort by that flair. I think this will help reduce excessive doom-scrolling so you don’t spend a lot of wasted time looking for things you are interested.
